Important information

Beginner:
Start slowly with salicylic acid (BHA) and use it 1 to 3 times per week in the evening. This gives your skin time to adjust and helps prevent irritation or over-exfoliation.

Advanced:
Is your skin responding well after 3 to 4 weeks? Then gradually increase usage to 3 to 5 times per week.

On the other days, use gentle, hydrating products to support your skin.

Never use multiple BHA products on the same day, with the exception of the BHA Cleanser. Also, avoid combining BHA with other active ingredients such as AHAs, retinol, or vitamin C in the same routine. Instead, alternate these on different days to avoid overloading the skin.

BHA increases sun sensitivity, so apply a SPF 30 or higher daily, even on cloudy days.

If you experience redness or irritation:
Reduce frequency or pause use and opt for calming skincare.

When not to use

When to Avoid Using Salicylic Acid:

  • If you are allergic or hypersensitive to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid)
  • If you have open wounds, eczema, or severely damaged skin
  • If you suffer from rosacea or couperose
  • During pregnancy or breastfeeding (especially with high concentrations or large areas of application)
  • If you have extremely dry or sensitive skin
  • When using other exfoliants such as retinol, AHAs, or vitamin C
  • Around the eyes or on the eyelids
  • When exposed to intense sunlight without daily SPF protection
  • During or shortly after a course of Roaccutane (isotretinoin)
  • For children or teenagers under 16 years old
  • During or shortly after intensive treatments such as chemical peels or microneedling

FAQ

What exactly does the BHA Exfoliating Cleanser do?
This cleanser combines two percent salicylic acid with zinc PCA. Together they form a powerful blend that not only cleanses and exfoliates but also helps regulate oil production and support the skin’s protective barrier. It cleans deeply into the pores, removes dead skin cells, and helps reduce and prevent blemishes.

How often can I use this cleanser?
Start with one to three times per week. If your skin tolerates it well, you can slowly increase use to every evening.

Does this cleanser also help prevent new breakouts?
Yes. Salicylic acid cleans deep within the pores to prevent blockages, while zinc helps calm the skin and keep the surface clear.

Can I use other BHA products after this cleanser?
Yes, you can. But limit it to just one additional BHA product per day besides the cleanser. Using more may lead to over exfoliation or irritation.

Can I combine this cleanser with other active skincare products?
Yes, but be careful when combining salicylic acid with other strong exfoliants such as AHAs, retinol, or vitamin C in the same routine. It is better to alternate them on different days.

Can I use this cleanser during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Salicylic acid in high concentrations is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are unsure, please consult your doctor before use.

My skin looks better

I’m very pleased with the cleanser. It foams well and is easy to apply to the face. I just wish the packaging was the same as the lotion, with a pump dispenser.

Clear skin with BHA: Discover salicylic acid

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) known for its purifying and anti-inflammatory properties. Unlike many other exfoliants, salicylic acid is oil-soluble, allowing it to penetrate deep into the pores. It helps loosen and remove built-up sebum, dead skin cells and impurities.

The result is a smoother, clearer and more balanced complexion, with fewer breakouts, blackheads and clogged pores. Perfect for oily, combination or acne-prone skin.

Why choose the BHA Exfoliating Cleanser?

The BHA Exfoliating Cleanser by RevitalTrax is more than just a regular face wash. Thanks to salicylic acid, it cleanses not only the surface of the skin but also deep inside the pores for a fresh and purified result.

How to use the BHA Exfoliating Cleanser?

Start by removing any makeup with a makeup remover. Mix the cleanser with lukewarm water in your hands. Massage it into your face using circular motions for at least one minute. Rinse thoroughly and gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Avoid the eye area.

Use only in the evening.

Your Step-by-Step Routine with Salicylic Acid (BHA)

When following a BHA routine, it’s important to combine products carefully to avoid skin irritation. Start slowly, use BHA only in the evening, and pay close attention to how your skin reactsespecially if you're new to acids.

⚠️On days you use BHA, choose either the BHA Lotion Exfoliant or the BHA Serum, never both. Also avoid using other active ingredients like AHA, retinol, or vitamin C on the same day to prevent overloading your skin.

The routine shows an example of how to build your skincare plan.

Tip: Dealing with body blemishes?

Use the BHA Body Spray to effectively treat clogged pores and breakouts on the body. For an extra deep cleanse, combine it with the BHA Cleanser in the shower. This duo helps purify the skin, reduces excess oil, and prevents future blemishes.

  • The BHA Cleanser can also be effective on the back, chest, shoulders and upper arms, for example in cases of keratosis pilaris or ingrown hairs.
  • Keep using the BHA Cleanser even when your skin has calmed down. This helps maintain your results and prevent new breakouts.
